Main duties and responsibilities:
Take responsibility for managing and updating data models, data architecture, data dictionaries, configuration and reference data catalogues. Work with business leads to identify and document data and reporting requirements. Design and maintain data models and manage data integration, performing data quality analysis and profiling tasks. Track business requirements and ensure that these can be matched from a data perspective. Take ownership of data related design decisions throughout the delivery process, including selection of tools to support data architecture activities. Ensure that data-specific project activities align technically and that the architecture is consistent from a data perspective.
Knowledge & Skills:
Experience of working with registries, directories, or reference data services – preferably in the health domain.
Experience of loosely-coupled system integration / interoperability between different third-party systems.
IT architectural design and system implementation experience in one or more health domains (e.g. urgent & emergency care, unscheduled care, primary care).
High level technical understanding of NHS Digital IT services, those offered by third party suppliers, and how these interoperate currently.
Ability to communicate complex architectural concepts to stakeholders with different focuses (e.g. business / technical / security / clinical)
Demonstrable experience of working closely with business stakeholders and third party suppliers to understand requirements and collectively deliver the best technical solution in terms of cost, performance, resilience, design approach and alignment with standards.
Experienced in the delivery of complex IT solutions through the full life cycle from initial inception to production.
Good understanding of messaging protocols and interoperability standards, in particular those with relevance to the health domain. - Broad understanding of current and emerging technologies and how they can be harnessed to meet the programmes business requirements. Evidence of recent delivery against a complex set of requirements and / or in a complex environment Previous architectural and development experience in IT health domain preferably focused on registries, directories, or reference data services.
Excellent communication with a wide range of business and clinical stakeholders, technical domain experts, and end-users.
Broad range of experience in technical solution design and delivery, and evidence of previous successful project delivery.
Ability to work at and move between different levels of detail dependent on the needs of the teams, programme, and business.
