Job Description
Must have recent proven planning experience and government/public sector/governance industry experience.
Developing; maintaining and documenting appropriate plans and controls for the project/programme in line with the departments Change Lifecycle/Agile delivery methodology
Ensuring the appropriate governance disciplines are observed
Key duties: Maintain & update the project schedule capturing the key activities and deliverables necessary to complete the project, identifying/reporting the Critical Path; Monitor actual progress against the agreed baseline, ensuring that any movement to this is subject to formal change control.
Run Schedule Risk Analysis as required.
Monitor resource levels against achievement to advise on resource levelling and identifying the Project Demand signal from the staffing plan.
Recalculate the remaining work required against the schedule and, using EVM techniques and TraC data, prepare and submit monthly Schedule/Cost Performance Reports to the PM/PCM. Provide support to the Project Controls Manager & team on wider Project controls work relating to risk & change management, monthly drumbeat and management reporting. Attend management and project team meetings as requested by the PM/PCM to report on/ capture performance against the Project Schedule.
Key Tasks and Deliverables:
Development and maintenance of the Chinook MK6 STS schedules to include transition of the schedules from Microsoft project to P6.
Generation and analysis of EVM metrics along with day to day management of schedule progress.
Experience:
Track record of successful delivery in an equivalent role with equivalent level of responsibility in complex Projects
Knowledge of industry standard methods and tools e.g MSP
Experience of working successfully with staff and representatives from business teams to deliver business change initiatives
Experience of working successfully in large; complex organisations
