Job Description
GSA Techsource are currently working with a Global IT Services Provider in order to recruit an Infrastructure Engineer who will be working on client site in Manchester.
Responsibilities:
- Be part of the relationship with the vendors that are providing the Infrastructure that is used to enable all internal and external applications
- Provide technical support that will include AD, Azure, VMWare, Windows Server and O365
- Enable application team to implement and support Business line applications, for example Workday, Smartstream etc.
- Provide technical advice, guidance, and informal training on hardware and software
- Ensure timely incident and problem resolution
- Monitor technical solutions for exceptional-based events or indicators
- Troubleshoot and restore routine technical services and equipment by analysing, identifying, and diagnosing faults and symptoms using established processes and procedures
- Assist in the development and implementation of new technology solutions
- Drives closure to open IT operational issues within problem and change system
- Participate in technical discussions with other teams and departments
You will also be working in a geographically disperse support team within the IT Service function.
Essential Skills:
- Knowledge of Supplier Governance and SLA services
- Strong vendor management skills
- VMWare
- NetApp or similar storage solutions
- AWS or Azure
- 5+ year's experience of working in Pan-European IT environment
- Ability to investigate and resolve issues utilising a structured problem solving process
- Able to demonstrate initiative, self-direction and adaption to changing priorities
- Excellent organisation, problem solving, communication, prioritisation and facilitation skills
- Good communication with clients/operational managers – listening and providing answers
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to build from good relationships with clients/operational managers and colleagues
- Ability to gather and assimilate information
- Knowledge of quality standards, legislation and best practice
- Ability to be adapt and prioritise
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to think ahead and anticipate problems, issues and solutions
