Facebook for Recruitment?

The growth of Facebook makes it an obvious source of talent, but is it only suited to certain sectors?

Companies with a strong brand, particularly retail / sport, can leverage their market presence through Facebook to attract new recruits across the globe, but can consulting and technology firms benefit to the same extent?

Perhaps it's only the likes of Apple, with an incredibly large and loyal band of followers (or customers as they are usually known) who can really benefit, but it is certainly a social platform that can contribute to the recruitment process.

LinkedIn may be the logical place to go but one must not presume that the demographic spread of facebook users is biased towards our children's generation with, surprisingly, the majority of users being over 35 years old.
