Security/SW Engineer – Kerberos, Python, Java
Contract Length: 12 Months - 3 year project
Clearance Level Required: BPSS with Basic Disclosure (issued by Disclosure & Barring Service or Disclosure Scotland)
Security / Software Engineer with development background required by government client for long term contract opportunity in Oxfordshire.
• Production experience and knowledge of access control, permission management for database applications, Linux operating systems, and batch processing systems • Experience of major security frameworks such as Kerberos, LDAP and OAuth2 • Experience of creating secure applications and securing systems functionality. • Experience in a variety of modern programming languages and proven experience at developing at an enterprise level, e.g. Python or Java
• To own the development of DAFNI security service which will provide authentication, authorisation and manage all access control aspects of DAFNI components including data, software, computational resources and their interactions with external third-party services; • To develop technical documentation, dissemination materials; • Recommend technical approaches to maintaining security across all elements of the platform and services. • Support monitoring and analysis of the system for security purposes.
Experienced Full Stack Software Engineer with familiarity across a number of programming languages.
Familiar with securing applications and interfacing with authorisation services such as Kerberos.
Experienced in defining the application security model at enterprise grade for use across all software deployed on a platform.
Familiar with a range of database technologies and interfacing with these in a secure manner.
