GSA Techsource are currently recruiting for an IT Support Engineer who will be working for an exciting global IT Provider. 

The role is part of a nationwide team that provide End User Compute (“EUC”) Services to the clients customers. This role will be based in Manchester but will occasionally need to travel to Wilmslow when required. The EUC Services include:
  • Management of various Endpoint technologies;
  • On-site support resources for end user services;
  • Hardware and software support,
  • Installs, Moves, Adds, Changes, Decommissions Service
  • Hardware maintenance and logistics, and
  • Asset management, inventory and reporting.
This role will provide on-site support services across different sites located in the Manchester area.

Key Responsibilities:

The IT Support Specialist provides desk side engineering activities, including the following:
  • The resolution of Incidents or Service Requests of customers employees that could not be resolved remotely via the Help Desk;
  • IMACD management of customer equipment (installations, re installations, moves, adds, changes, decommissions);
  • Providing services to VIP Users;
  • In some instances it may be required that the IT Support Specialist will need to cover other locations in the event of sickness or absence. This may involve travel to other customer office locations;
  • Maintaining direct relationships with customer employees and acting as the point of information for all activities related to end user compute services;
  • Capturing, documenting and reporting on information requests; and
  • Desk side technical and awareness training (including hardware training).

  • Receives little instruction on day-to-day work, receives general instructions on new assignments
  • Typically requires demonstrable related experience with a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree; or moderate level experience and a Master’s or equivalent degree; or a PhD or equivalent degree without experience; or equivalent work experience

This role falls Inside IR35. The rate quoted in an umbrella assignment rate.
