Job Description

The Delivery Manager/Project Manager will provide high level leadership and management to key mobilisations being planned and carried out by the ICT teams.

The post holder will lead on the technical transitions delivering a high quality, customer-orientated transition to ongoing support.
The post holder will be responsible for developing and implementing the overall technical transition strategy for on boarding new customers.
The post holder will be responsible for:
Managing multiple teams of services and staff across ICT professional services disciplines.
Accountable for driving the internal ICT directorate mobilisation strategy for the on boarding of new customers and contracts, communicating and delivering the creation of that strategy into an operational business plan at all levels to board.
Responsible for fostering effective relationships with internal and external customers.
Responsible for the achievement of all the service objectives, including financial, workforce and performance.
Responsible for identifying new ways of working to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the service and implement the changes needed.
Accountable for overseeing for Technical service mobilisations including the standards, knowledge management, asset management and controls.

Essential Experience:

High level of political astuteness and sensitivity– in particular awareness of social, political, financial and business issues affecting the NHS
Specialist project and programme management experience
Significant proven experience of managing strategic programmes, projects, project management offices and project managers
Experience of Leading an ICT Technical function for at least five years
Significant experience of systems and application development and management
Demonstrable experience of ICT R&D
Excellent working knowledge of change management processes and Project and Programme management
Excellent understanding of current technical standards and systems for ICT, information management and information governance
High level knowledge of ICT Support functions - ITIL methodologies
In-depth knowledge of computer systems/networks and a range of software applications
