Job Description
This is a golden opportunity for a proven manager to work with a leading NHS Foundation Trust which has consistently been in the top ranked Trusts for staff engagement and satisfaction. The Business Intelligence and Performance department is part of the Informatics Directorate which has been given a three year mandate to transform the way the Trust works by introducing the latest technology.
The Business Intelligence and Performance Department delivers a wide ranging informatics service across the Trust. Increasingly this is done through our SQL Server-based Business Intelligence platform which we are developing through a range of projects. The Technical Development Team is responsible for leading and delivering these projects working closely with staff across the Trust.
We are looking for an experienced manager to lead the Technical Development Team. The main aim of the role is to develop the way we define, build and test new additions to the system. The post will be working closely with stakeholders outside of the Business Intelligence and Performance Department and therefore we are looking for candidates with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing a team, and have the interpersonal skills, resilience and maturity to get the best out of their staff. This also applies to wider project teams which the post holder will bring together as set out in the programme plan. The post holder will draw upon significant project management experience, taking a best practice approach to functional specification and testing.
Knowledge of BI systems, in particular SQL Server, is essential, as is project management experience. Experience of working within the NHS would be an advantage, however we would carefully consider any applicant who can demonstrate strong management experience coupled with relevant technical experience, in line with the attached person specification.
The trust is committed to equality, promoting diversity, developing positive policies and operating a variety of flexible working arrangements. For this post we would particularly welcome applications from women, disabled people and candidates from black and minority ethnic (BME) communities, who are currently under-represented within our senior management teams.
Closing date: 31 October 2015. GSA Techsource Ltd operates as an Employment Agency when recruiting for permanent vacancies, and an Employment Business when recruiting for contract vacancies. Calls to 0845 numbers are charged at 7p per minute plus your provider's access charge.
